This sanctuary accumulated successive architectonic transformations during the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries.  
The new church of N. S da Luz, inaugurated in 2003, evokes the old once it is similar; for it was made a strict architectonic survey and traditional construction methods and techniques were used. These aspects allowed the integration of the stonework elements more representative of the other church as: the pulpit, the baptismal pool, the portals and the gothic capitals. The mural paintings of the old mother church of the village were removed from their architectonic bearing, treated and applied in the same place, that is, in the triumphal arch of the other church.
